Review of The Doors (1991) by Lucas Y — 23 Oct 2009
Far from Oliver Stones best work, but not his worst. The concert recreations are awesome as well as Val Kilmers shockingly dead on peformance. The dialog in this film reminds me of being at a bar not drinking and having an annoying drunk over your shoulder reading you his poetry & trying to discuss philosophy.
Meg Ryan didn't fit this movie at all. Crispin Glovers cameo as Andy Warhol was interesting. I'm a fan big Doors fan & this film nearly put me to sleep more than once. That shouldn't happen.
