Review of The Doors (1991) by Jack H — 26 Jul 2009
I LOVE The Doors but did not like the portrayal of Jim Morrison in this film at all and only hope it not to be an accurate depiction. The Jim in this film is one sick individual who tries to kill his girlfriend by locking her in a closet before setting it alight when he catches her cheating and chants ludicrous statements about wanting to kill his father and screw his mother.
What is the purpose of this movie? It's certainly not a homage to The Doors because of the negative portrayal of Jim Morrison.
Aside from this I found the film way too tedious and self - important to enjoy.. I give the film 2 stars for the great acting, beautiful scenery and its fittingly psychedelic and dreamy quality.
