Review of The Doors (1991) by Randy E — 03 Aug 2010
Having recently went through a Morrison craze I figured I would revisit Oliver Stone's 1991 film "The Doors". val Kilmer is not an acting I usually admire but I could really see Jim in his performance.
The fact that he was not even nominated for an Oscar is crazy. The film itself sometimes loses itself in the over directing style of Sone but is a must see. A good double feature would be Natural Born Killers and The Doors.
These 2 films show a stage of film making that Stone has not revisited. While not the masterpiece I remember The Doors is more than enough style to make up for what it loses with substance.
