Review of The Door in the Floor (2004) by Sean T — 02 Aug 2007
Based on the first third of John Irving's novel "A Widow for One Year", the story follows Eddie O'Hare, a young man stuck in the middle of a separation between a children's book writer and his wife, leading into an affair.
Though not as compelling as the book itself, Bridges and Basinger both turn in career best performances here and director Tod Williams has improved over his great debut in "The Adventures of Sebastian Cole".
If you want a movie with a lot of heart, this is it.
