Review of The Do-Over (2016) by Pepper W — 28 May 2016
I went into this film with very low exceptions; on top of being an Adam Sandler film (which have been rapidly dropping in quality) it was a straight to Netflix film, and while I have enjoyed their shows, their films just don't seem to live up.
However, this film pleasantly surprised me. I genuinely laughed throughout and I felt like the emotional sub plot fit and it did not take up too much screen time (something I feel happens all to often in the modern comedy).
I felt the film had decent pacing and some fun twists (some more predictable than others).
However, much of the humor is crude or juvenile, quite a bit of it relying on gore or nudity.
This is definitely not my favorite film I have ever seen, but I would watch it again with friends or something.
