Review of The Divorcee (1930) by Jason H — 30 Mar 2008
DVR is on the fritz so discovered this flick on TCM on Demand. This is a fascinating film. The first half is very contemporary dealing with issues in what might have been a fresh way at the time. The second half seems to have been touched by a censor.
In any event, it's a very entertaining movie anchored by a terrific Oscar winning performance by Norma Shearer. An aside- the men certainly wore as much makeup as the women, maybe more.
