Review of The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (2007) by Isabelle P — 23 Aug 2010
An extraordinary organic and subjective experience in cinema. As soon as Bauby's eye is sewn, you are terrifyingly locked in with him. Then, suddenly dazzled by Schnabel's visual virtuosity, a rhapsodic collage of memories, half-visions and hallucinations, and thoroughly ravished by Bauby's exquisite words, you're released to the powers of an unyielding, transcending imagination.
Exceptional.
