Review of The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (2007) by Sergio R — 29 May 2013
With Schnabel in the direction, Kaminsky in the cinematography and Harwood in the screenplay made of this an magnificent film with extreme technical ambitions and outstanding narrative structure.
Le scaphandre et le papillon is one of the greatest movies of all time with a wonderful story that reflects the human existencialism and force of the spirit in such a breathtaking way, the shots are magical with some never seen before scenes. There is some melodrama but is very subtle, focusing more on the inside of Jean-Do than the exterior of the character. The poems, the music, the editing, the screenplay, the acting, the cinematography and of course the direction are flawless.
