Review of The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (2007) by Karim M — 30 Dec 2009
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly is a piercing, poignant, inspirational and ultimately masterful piece of french cinema. The journey of a man who has "Locked In" syndrome after suffering a stroke seems mundane, but the tale of his hope, his desires and the people he meets gives you a first-class ticket into a place very rarely visited in a film: Thoughts.
Cleverly directed and beautifully shot, the film is a must-see true story!
