Review of The Disaster Artist (2017) by Jose Miguel G — 03 Mar 2018
F*cking WOW. A beautifully made roller coaster of emotions (especially appealing to artists/creative types). You just don't get these type of 'auteur' films out of Hollywood anymore. It's artsy without ever being pretentious.
Amazing, yet humble, acting and script. Perfect pacing (this is RARE). It honestly surprised me on every single level of 'being'. I believe this will be remembered as one of the few true art films from the 2010's.
Even though it isn't required to understand the plot, I would strongly recommend watching 'The Room' (2003) before this one so that you may enjoy all the 'meta' references and commentary.
BRILLIANT!
