Review of The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Them (2014) by Christy C — 07 Sep 2014
I decided to go to watch this movie because my friend invited me to watch it in Summer International Film Festival 2014. The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby had two versions available in the festival, which are Her and Him.
They stand in female and male perspectives respectively to tell the story. The actress left her husband because she didn't know how to handle the pain of her son death. She wanted to find a way to escape from the pain, so she went back to her family and studied again.
The story is about how they get along after they re-encounter. I love Her more because it really touches my heart. Before I watch the movie, I thought it would be a cheesy love story, however, I changed my mind after watching this.
The director described the female inner world meticulously. The pain she faced and the hopeless feeling showed to us through the actress wonderful performance. The way she chose to dealing with the pain is most of female would do.
That's why I felt like I am in the movie and in her inner world. I love the ending of the movie, the actress was trailing the actor, and it showed their relationship changed after all the things happened.
It left a blank for the audience to think about what will happen next, will they be together again? I think this movie is worth watching, I recommend to watch Her and Him together because they are in a series.
I have no regret on purchasing the ticket.
