Review of The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Them (2014) by Josh O — 08 Feb 2015
Unfortunately I've only had access to Them which is the combination of both Him and Her so I am yet to have the full Rigby experience. But as far as Them goes it is fantastically acted by its two leads; Mcavoy and Chastain play broken beautifully and tragically.
The film is well made with lovely cinematography and a good score but for some reason it didn't connect with. I found it cold and distant; the script leaves a lot unexplained which could be because this is the combination of two films but even then it show enough for all this heartache to be a worthwhile viewing experience.
Its intentions are good, performances fantastic but either the script or direction stopped it from being emotionally involving.
