Review of The Disappearance of Alice Creed (2009) by Davies C — 30 Nov 2010
This movie was actually one that Netflix chose for me--so I went for it and gave it a shot (pleasantly surprised-very).
First of all, it's British--that is an A+ right there. Acting was amazing--three actors in a room--human nature at work--greed, deception, mistrust, lust, ownership, violence, and a couple of real funky, raw twists where I went, "say what?".
"Never saw that one coming, holy crap.".
The movie starts out real fast with the actual event that leads to the "plot" per se, but then I find out there is plot behind another plot and another one---all very psychological in nature though. (actually twist behind another twist and another, even until the very end---LOVE IT!).
Can't really say much more about the flick or there would be spoilers alerts all over the place---JUST WATCH IT! RENT IT!
**Lots of profanity, but geez it a crime/psycho thriller so the swearing suits the subject matter and the characters. (plus it's British--they cuss like my Scottish mum did!).
