Review of The Dinner (2017) by Aurora1 — 03 Aug 2018
The Trip got a new chapter: The Trip Into Drama. As if the previous ones were not dramatic enough. Steve Coogan is still rattling off his opinions about this and that through a glass of wine and a slice of cheese, but this time there is one victim more than the audience.
I can see the point of the director here, showing the selfishness and hypocrisy of bourgeoisies talking about something horrible protected by the comfortable shell of a luxurious restaurant, while the poor outside are literally burning out.
But it just doesn't work.
