Review of The Diary of a Teenage Girl (2015) by Daniel S — 22 Mar 2016

Effective look at the hard life of growing up as a teenage girl, it does NOT shy away from the ugly and sexual side of teens' lives, it very much earns its R rating, and some scenes are kinda hard to watch, the main girl does a good job, not always likable or making good decisions, but then again what teen ever is? Skarsgaard does a good job as the moms sleazy bf, tho Wiig doesnt really have that much to do as the mom, lotsa good 70s era songs on the soundtrack and some good use of animation within the film.

Def a cut above most teenage coming of age flicks, thanks to how revealing it is.
