Review of The Devil's Rejects (2005) by Adam P — 18 Dec 2009
This movie is so far from worthwhile, I cannot describe it. Why did I give it a full star? William Forsythe was great, and the motel exit scene was pretty amusing. Why did I not give any more? Because in comparison to other psycho manhunts from the genre, this movie is a festering abortion.
Imagine 'Natural Born Killer' lost all its acting, dumbed down it's character interactions, minimized its plot, and had a clown. Where 'NBKs' succeeds in actually creating sympathy for the devil, 'Rejects' falls completely flat.
(Freebird? Is that a joke that I missed?) Why am I being so critical about a B-movie? Because people said it was better than the first. There's little/no comparison to the first movie in content or likability.
The Fireflys lost their connection to the occult and fondness for torture and mutilation, went on the road to become badasses, and traded fillet knives for six guns. Wow, Rob, way to ruin an almost decent series.
