Review of The Devil's Rejects (2005) by Lauren C — 18 Nov 2010

First off, I want to say that I loved the prequel, House of 1000 Corpses. However, I was pretty let down by this. While it did focus on my 3 favourite characters - Otis, Baby and Spaulding - this film had an entirely different feel to it, and it was a pretty nasty one.

The motel scene, particularly, had me covering my eyes at some points. It felt like a stand-alone movie - while House was a corny, 70s-style horror flick, this was pretty disturbing in a different way.

I gave it 3 stars because I loved House so much, but I can't say I enjoyed it too much.
