Review of The Devil's Rejects (2005) by Adam T — 12 Jul 2012
Something on this film everyone can agree on is that it surpasses House of 1000 Corpses on all levels. The only things that hurt the film is the exaggerated sexual content, although I understand its Zombie-style, and the lacking aknowledgment of a few characters in the prior film, which more or likely threw fans of the prior film, like me, into confusion or frusteration.
I think this film, although its influences shine bright, that its one of the more original and noteworthy horror films of the new century. The characters and the portrayels here were great, the three antagonists gave depth-full performances and the small protagonists on the side really helped show how everyone can get a bit messed up.
Yes the gore and chills are very heavy but should not at all lessen the respect towards the film but rather show a different light of ''why go there?'' with a "why not?'' ''like it or not sick shit happens and this is how it would look.
'' thrown in, to ice the cake. For a film like this to creep me out, being someone who can take alot in a film, props are given. The westen feel of this terror filled horror film cant be missed by any adult who can take the sickness.
Plus the greatest use of a legendary Lynard Skynard song is used in this movie.
