Review of The Devil's Own (1997) by Josh N — 06 May 2008
I'm really confused about my feelings for this film. Did I like it or not like it? I really can't make up my mind. This film had what could have been agreat story, but the screenplay was choppy that the film truly suffered.
And, the score for the film (most particularly the theme for Brad Pitt's character), was so upbeat, that I felt at times the audience was being made to like and root for Pitt's terrorist character.
Harrison Ford brings his usual stuff to the film, but it couldn't save this poorly crafted film. Note...I've read that both Pitt and Ford were upset during fiilming, because the Director kept ordering rewrites on the script.
