Review of The Devil's Double (2011) by Liz G — 19 Aug 2011
It baffles me how human beings like the Husseins can walk this world, and do whatever they please. I applaud films like The Devil's Double because it encourages people to learn more about what goes on in the world. Even though this movie isn't entirely true (some of the facts were altered or simply added), it gives us an idea on what Latif suffered while working as Uday's double. Perhaps, I would've liked to see a bit more of the past, on why the Hussein brothers became monsters (Saddam would force them to watch torturing, killings, etc. when they were children).
I have to say, Dominic Cooper has done a superb job playing both characters. I know him from An Education, and I surely hope he gets more work after this film. Recommended.
