Review of The Devil's Double (2011) by Niraj V — 24 Aug 2011
Based on a true life story, this is a very hard hitting, no holds barred view on the life in Saddam Hussein's Iraq.
The story is about the life of Uday Hussein, Saddam's out of control elder son, and his body double.
You get a look in to the madness that comes with such unlimited, and unopposed, power and you wonder how the people of Iraq put up with this for so long.
The movie belongs to Dominic Cooper who excels in a double role and is able to keep the two identities distinct so you know which one is on the screen.
The rest of the cast is in a purely supporting role, so no point in mentioning anyone, as none makes an impression.
Make sure you go and watch it, but I hope you have the stomach for some hard hitting violence on screen, welcome to Iraq before the downfall of Saddam.
