Review of The Devil's Advocate (1997) by Stephen S — 04 Jan 2013
Surprisingly good, considering how terrible the casting sounds. The only one I sort of like out of the entire cast is Charlize Theron, and she doesn't even do that good of a job here. Pacino and Reeves are both horrible actors, but I guess they got hypnotized into not sucking at acting or something before the start of this film.
I wouldn't say they're good...it just works. Pacino isn't as off the fucking walls annoying as he normally is, but when he does get a bit wacky, it works because he's the devil. This is before Keanu Reeves reached the full suck level that he's at today so he's tolerable.
The rest of the film comes together surprisingly well. Not for everyone, but still pretty cool to see once.
