Review of The Devil's Advocate (1997) by Jim H — 20 Jun 2014
A chilling, disturbing and graphic way of telling the story of how Satan may have fully integrated himself into our society. And the disturbing part of it is that it's all very plausible â?? all the way down to Pacino's electrifying role (maybe save for the self-aggrandizing and clichéd "yelling himself out of his boots" final speech from him).
Pacino and Charlize Theron actually elevate Keanu Reeves' normally wooden acting up to presentable here, which continues to make the film move along. There'll be no warm fuzzies in this movie, so don't head to the theater thinking you will get any.
But it's still a great watch.
