Review of The Devil's Advocate (1997) by Noéma Q — 03 Feb 2014
Sure, it may get a little too silly at times and the CGI is just ok, but this moral fable is actually pretty fun and very dark. When a silver tongued lawyer on a serious winning streak (Keanu Reeves) and his sexy wife (Charlize Theron) move up to NYC to take a deal that seems too good to be true at an accounting firm it isn't long before before he gets a little too involved in his various cases and she starts to fall apart.
What's worse, his new boss may be Lucifer himself. All the cast put on great performances here, and Charlize Theron even bares her breasts for a brief love scene. It's a fun film, even if it does drag on at some points.
