Review of The Devil Wears Prada (2006) by Kerwin M — 11 May 2012
One too many satires makes "The Devil Wears Prada" a good reconstruction of it's source novel. David Frankel made it a plain and predictable film but thanks to his acting counterparts, it became an entertaining film.
Andy Sachs (Hathaway), a geeky intellect fresh from graduating college, wants to be a journalist but ends up working as an assistant for Miranda Priestly (Streep), the inhumane and wicked boss of Runway magazine.
Later on her job, she realized that she already loved it but some things are forcing her not to continue, her longtime reverie profession and her longtime boyfriend. A film about fashion, about it's scenic and hideous surfaces, and how it will affect Andy Sachs on pursuing her career.
The Devil Wears Prada is a light, semi-sweet, and effortless act from Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway.
