Review of The Devil Wears Prada (2006) by Patryk C — 26 Jul 2012
A chic and stylish comedy that promises much and actually delivers it all in a very enjoyable manner. The plot is entertaining and clever, exposing the hot, self-centered, and imposing fashion scene of New York.
While the movie is shallow in its source material, The Devil Wears Prada shows with utmost precision. Meryl Streep definitely on top of her game, as the elegant, arrogant and rigorous editor of a famous magazine, and Anne Hathaway does a good job of adjusting into the role of a shy and ambitious girl, who is yet very strong and convincing when she needs to be.
It's full of situational jokes, some romance, and convinces with the clash between the wise, but aged, and fresh, but inexperienced.
