Review of The Devil Wears Prada (2006) by Isuru B — 09 Jul 2011
Let's get something straight from the beginning: I do not care for Meryl Streep in any shape, form or fashion. I could barely stomach her here. Strike one. Adrian Grenier does little that impresses me either. He has no range - he's always the same no matter what emotion he's supposed to be showing (because he doesn't show ANY). Strike two. Anne Hathaway carries this movie; she is the grand slam that makes this movie a winner. The movie is better than I expected in that Hathaway's character learns a life lesson and shows growth. From the name of the film you know it is going to be superficial, however Hathaway has such appeal she gives it teeth. Well worth watching.
