Review of The Devil Came on Horseback (2007) by Ricardo C — 27 Oct 2007
I've always maintained that cinema - as a whole- has very little importance on the large scheme of things. I firmly believe that any filmmaker trying to label their film as important is nothing but a megalomaniac, and as consequence it makes me care little about their film.
I don't know whether the filmmakers set out to make an important film, but that is what this is: an important movie everyone should see.
I saw this at the Nashville Film Festival back in April and I remember it made all the other films -which I regarded as the best- look small and without purpose.
This movie is a towering achievement, the best film of 2007.
