Review of The Devil Came on Horseback (2007) by Cécile L — 03 Mar 2008
This documentary was well shot, well written, and the still photography that was included in the film was stunning and haunting.
It is a significant film in understanding the crisis in Darfur, and how the US continues to put its own interests above that of human rights. If you thought Rwanda was bad and we screwed up on that one, The Devil Came on Horseback will only convince you that the West hasn't done any better in Sudan.
It's rated 18A for good reason, some of the images are very disturbing. So watch with care.
