When absolute genius and total fucking insanity meet you get Daniel Johnston. His music is weird and brilliant enough but his life has been even weirder. This movie is packed full of funny and sad Daniel moments, I often felt bad for laughing, especially at the Mountain Dew jingle he wrote when he was in an institution.
