Review of The Devil and Daniel Johnston (2006) by J M — 01 Sep 2008
I personally don't care much about details in the personal life of artists, musicians, actors. It feels somewhat unnecessary and intrusive... but there are few exceptions to this, such as Daniel Johnston.
Knowing more of his life actually adds something to experiencing their work. This documentary is a great way to learn about him and understand his music. Maybe it's time a worthy tribute is paid while he is around to see it.
I'm definitely getting more of his albums.
