Review of The Devil All the Time (2020) by Jsands27 — 16 Sep 2020
This movie had me on the edge of my seat half the time, and glancing at my friend the other half at the violent portrayals of the characters' inner selves. Tom Holland is freaking ridiculous in his performance, as is Bill Skarsgård.
You can see the rage and pain within them throughout their time on screen. There are some weaker characters, and some slower sections, but to see how they (and the sins they represent) intertwine over the film's otherwise lengthy duration, is well worth your time.
As a bonus, the music is subtle yet haunting at parts, and in an interesting dichotomy, beautiful and hopeful during some of the darkest scenes. I was really gripped throughout the score.
