The Descendants is a good movie, which is to say it is neither groundbreaking nor earth-shattering. Clooney is great as usual, and the performance of his eldest daughter is also fantastic. It is nominated for best picture this year, and although it is good I don't believe that it should win.
Rent it on dvd and watch it with someone who enjoys movies. Not for a casual viewer of film.
