Review of The Descendants (2011) by Siddharth S — 17 Jul 2012
I can see how someone might watch this and think, 'Okay, that's just two hours worth of a peek into someone's life..nothing actually happened.' I hate movies like that, but there is just something about this film that felt real.
It touched on a very real and serious topic. The acting, from Clooney to the kids, was very good and it just felt real. It didn't feel scripted. Many more films are taking this approach and I love it.
Something about the way the dialogue is written makes it feel like the thoughts are coming straight from the actor's head, rather than being rehearsed and vomited back up.
