Review of The Descendants (2011) by Rostek P — 25 Aug 2012
This film is disappointing. The acting isn't bad even though Clooney's best performance ever doesn't mean much. It's Shailene Woodley who delivered the performance I liked the most and she created the character I cared mostly about.
There was something real there that was very close to a stereotype but surprised me as well. But the script offers little in terms of character and story and the film feels long and even. I needed a fresh perspective here.
.. And Alexander Payne applies the same visual approach as with every other film he's done. I mostly didn't care about the film.
