Review of The Descendants (2011) by Jon K — 02 Jan 2013
At times funny and at times poignant, director Alexander Payne has a penchant for such works. This time he adapts from the book of the same title by Kaui Hart Hemmings. Possibly one of his best movies, alongside ABOUT SCHMIDT and ELECTION, this little quaint family drama is about a family's coming-of-age after the matriarch is left in a coma after a boating accident.
Rating: A-.
