The Descendants is a marvelous drama with just the right amount of comedic sprinklings. This film does a superb job of portraying the troubles of life and how unpredictable it can be, but in the wake of the problems, it can bring people closer together.
It's a quiet film that isn't bombastic, but it leaves one hell of an impact since it such a beautifully directed, superbly performed by everyone in the cast, wonderfully written, funny when it wants to be, and also emotional.
This is easily one of the best dramas of the 21st century that is well deserving of the praise it has received.
