The Departed is clear source material that will have ideas taken from it for many years to come. First of all an outstanding job was done utilizing all the talent and making sure no on oversteps each other.
The performances were good but with all the talent its hard for anyone to stand out but this film doesn't need a stand out performer. The well developed plot is what makes this film great. The storyline is well developed and progresses smoothly to an unexpected finish.
The Departed is one of the best written stories that stands up with the likes of Se7en, Gladiator, and The Shawshank Redemption. Excellent film.
