Review of The Den (2013) by Roxanne R — 06 Aug 2014
I am giving three stars to this one PRIMARILY because of the clever way the film is shot: from computer screens and video chat screens. which transforms the frame into a simulated computer screen, capturing the scope and speed of modern technology via instant-messaging services and various in-frame live video feeds and exploiting the resultant security concerns with a flair for suspense and unpretentious midnight-movie vigor.
Yes, it is creative no doubt! Also it revives an interest in making new friends through chat services like Skype, facetime, you tube, etc. Moreover, bonus points for the film being VERY unpredictable, OMG I did not see that coming.
The pace was good, kept me trying to figure out certain things that I cannot divulge and the plot builds up to its brutal and shocking conclusion. Acting was good as well, this is what I consider a very good Indy film but now that I know what lies ahead I strongly believe that big brother, NSA, FBI, and similar agencies must keep an eye on that.
I will leave you with this- I rather watch pornography than what I witnessed at the end. There are some sick people in this world. Available on Netflix instant streaming and recommended for adults.
