The first hour is mostly devoted to what seems to be accurate rendition of the 1985 TWA athens hijacking. from here, the film is purest fantasy pitting the noble americans against the dirty low down palestinians.
in an attempt at 'make my day' immortality, chuck norris growls at one of them, sleep tight sucker before blowing them away and gets a chance to make an ample use of his martial arts skills.
