Review of The Delta Force (1986) by Ben R — 27 Jul 2011
This is the long winded but overall good action,adventure,suspense, old hollywood meets 80s action movie. Starring Chuck Norris who became a great late 70s,80s action hero, and Lee Marvin who was more of the old guard from the 50s and 60s action genre.
The rest of the cast is alot of older hollywood stars such as Shelly winters,George Kennedy,Martin Balsam among others, who are on a plane that gets hijacked by Lebanese terrorists (based on the real life 1985 TWA Jet Hijacking).
The first half of the movie is really slow moving and alot of old jewish people saying they're all going to die and how they survived concentration camps and they can survive this, it got pretty old after the first half hour of it.
When the action actually picks up it kinda plods along, till the last amazing action packed half hour. This almost has a made for tv feel to it but the violence boosts this up to a feature film. All in all a decent mid 80s old fashioned type of military action rescue movie.
Only gets 3 stars because of the end but the first half prevent it from becoming a 4 star action film.
