Review of The Deer Hunter (1978) by Mvke S — 02 Jul 2011
An amazing study of the torturous, sick, and agonizing acts of war. The Deer Hunter is maybe the most courageous film ever made. It will suck you in, and leave you yearning for peace. Director Michael Cimino makes 'The Deer Hunter' a cinematic masterpiece due to his treacherous insights and sentimental approach, also significant are two outstanding performances by Robert De Niro and Christopher Walken, a fitting score, and terrific writing.
The Deer Hunter will have you curious, cringing, laughing, and crying, and in spite of each element that creates this film, it's one of the greatest of all time.
