THE DEER HUNTER is a masterpiece, a brilliantly conceived epic that works on almost every level. Robert DeNiro and Meryl Streep are both awesome, but ultimately, my praise goes to Christopher Walken, who gives a spellbinding, Oscar-winning performance.
The Russian roulette sequences are alone proof and that proves why this film is not for the faint of heart- it is some of the most brilliant filmmaking you will ever see.
