Review of The Deer Hunter (1978) by Lee B — 20 Jul 2010
One of the greatest war films ever made. The Deer Hunter features one of the greatest ensemble casts with De Niro and Walken performing at top level, There is indepth character development and suspense to match.
Although often at times can seem to drag especially in the first hour, The Deer Hunter brings you back in for one hell of a ride. The Russian Roulette scenes are obviously very tense. The Deer Hunter is one of the most important, controversial and thoughtprovoking films I have ever had the pleasure to see.
A landmark in war films.
