Review of The Deer Hunter (1978) by Alex H — 13 Oct 2010
I find the beginning a little tedious, a slight echo of the godfather part 1 but once you get passed that the film really picks up and becomes an amazing watch if horrific at times. Deniro is fantastic, as to be expected, but I think the actor who really shines is Walken, he really goes over the edge and loses all grip on reality.
The most memorable scene would be the Russian Roulette scene that is truly tense and has been spoofed many many times. Great casting and a gripping story a must see if you haven't done so already.
