Review of The Deer Hunter (1978) by Josh T — 21 Feb 2016
Cimino the visonary, confining rock-solid character fundament into this epic long mentally disturbing war piece. The enormous specter surrounding these young boys, thrown into the crazy Vietnam war with all its faults.
Survival of the fittest comes to mind, when surviving nam is regarded as taking down the deer in one shot pronto. Di Niro is showing what it takes, putting down one of his most sublime actor achivements.
