Review of The Deep End of the Ocean (1999) by Joe L — 17 Jul 2009
I was pleasantly surprised with how touching this story is. I found it extremely easy to place myself into the roles of the various characters and really FEEL what they were going through. The acting is phenomenal by all actors except maybe Whoopi Goldberg who tends to always play the same character in different clothes, then again her lightheartedness was absolutely necessary in a film of this magnitude. ;).
Could it have been deeper and more involved? Yes, but for a movie that had to fit into 109 minutes, it was as close to perfection as one could expect.
