Review of The Death of Superman (2019) by W S — 09 Jul 2018
SPOILERS: By far one of the strongest DC Animated Films in a long time. After the disappointing showing of Batman and Harley Quinn, DC has hammered it out of the park with the Death of Superman. This film goes a long way to establish the relationships between all of the characters in the DC universe, a key element lacking in previous installments in the animated films since the new 52.
Here, the Justice League feels more like friends and family as they interact with one another, from relationship advice to the Flash's marriage to Iris. It also goes out of its way to show the impact of Superman on the world at large, so much so that when that iconic moment from the comics eventually plays out in tremendous, and visually stunning fashion, The viewer has no choice but to feel the pain along with every one in the DC Universe.
Truly a spectacular work of art.
