Review of The Death of Stalin (2017) by Elle C — 16 Nov 2017
A three and a half star movie pushed up to four stars due to the fantastic script. Armando Iannucci has a bizarre ability to convey political confusion and ambition with humour and intelligence. The acting was superb across the board, although I don't understand why Jason Issac's was so heavily featured on the promotional material.
The only cons I can think of is the speed, which felt both drawn out and rushed. We saw all the build up of the political upheaval without any of the historically accurate climax. Basically, I want the directors cut.
