Review of The Death of Stalin (2017) by Dmitry L — 11 Jul 2018
Another Armando Iannucci creation that hits all the right chords. This is a guy whose touch turns everything into satire, as seen in his works: "In the Loop" (a satire on the bungling/ bumbling mistakes of world leaders post-9/11 leading up to the war on terror), "The Thick of It" (on the daily machinations of the British government), and of course "Veep" (on the staggering incompetency of the US vice presidential office).
This time Iannucci travels way east of the Atlantic Ocean, to the Soviet Union bringing w/ him zingers, one-liners, and proof of political farcity, one wily comrade after another.
